Addressing gender equality with artificial intelligence

Since 2017, Iceland’s Gender Equality Act has made it obligatory for companies and institutions with over 25 employees to undergo an equal pay certification process. Back then, Iceland felt the gender gap was still too wide, despite the various pieces of legislation already in force. 

The new rules address gender equality and the gender pay gap in the workplace, requiring companies to re-evaluate job roles, criteria, pay, gender balance and other indicators and make any necessary changes.
