Armenia wins 8th Junior Eurovision Song Contest
Minsk (Belarus),  20 November 2010 – Vladimir Arzumanyan from Armenia was chosen as the winner of the 2010 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, held on Saturday night. The event was a coproduction by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and Belarusian public broadcaster BTRC.

Vladimir with Mama from Armenia received a total of 120 points. Russia finished second, Serbia finished third.

“Congratulations to tonight’s winner, and of course to the other 13 contestants who all delivered amazing performances. It is unbelievable how talented these young children between 10 and 15 are," said Svante Stockselius, the outgoing Executive Supervisor of the event on behalf of the EBU.

The show featured a guest performance by 2009 Eurovision Song Contest winner Alexander Rybak and all former winners of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. UNICEF backed the contest, and televoting revenues are to be donated to the United Nations Children’s Fund.

Unlike the adults’ Eurovision Song Contest, the country winning the Junior Eurovision Song Contest does not automatically host the next show. The host of the 2011 contest will be selected in the next few weeks.
