RAI extends deadline for investigative journalism prize

The deadline for Italian Member RAI’s Roberto Morrione Prize has been extended to 27 January. Traditionally the award has celebrated the best investigative journalism on television. For its 5th edition the prize is open to multimedia and internet-based projects too.

The prize was launched to support investigative TV reports on national or international topics relevant to Italy's political, social and cultural life, such as activities of the mafia and other criminal organizations, illegal trafficking (e.g.human trafficking, drugs, etc), corruption, violations of human rights etc.

Judges will select 2 winners in the television category and two for the new WebDoc one. Each of the four winners will receive a prize of € 4,000 (25% upfront and the rest upon delivery of the final product ready to be screened or published online).

Two additional prizes of €2,000 will be given to the one of the two television finalists one of the two best WebDoc winners based on the decision of the evaluation committee.

These two final winners projects will be broadcast/published by Rainews24 (TV) and Rainews.it.

The Roberto Morrione Prize is open to those under the age of 31 at the midnight of 20th January. Groups of up to 3 people can also apply.
