Diversity in classical music

Diversity constitutes a major challenge in classical music. To tackle it, BBC Radio 3's 'Sounds Connected' project aims to find new presenting talents while assuring freedom to bring an authentic voice. Edward Blakeman, Head of Music Programmes, and Jessica Isaacs, Head of Production, Producer Marie-Claire Doris and Bassonist and Presenter Linton Stephens share their experience reconnecting sounds at the BBC.

A broader panel then discusses diversity in the classical music field. Our BBC colleagues are joined by Orville Breeveld, Music Marketing & Programming Consultant at Concertgebouw Amsterdam, and Björn Gottstein, Artistic Director of the Donaueschinger Musiktage and Radio Producer for contemporary music at SWR.
