When will gender balance be reached in fields such as sound engineering or conducting? It is crucial to make the changes from the roots, break bias and stereotypes, and give opportunities to the less represented categories. For this year’s International Women’s Day, EBU Music invited Darcy Proper, Grammy Award winner Mastering Engineer and Keychange Ambassador, Errollyn Wallen, Composer, and Laurence Equilbey, Conductor and initiator of the Study “Où sont les femmes” (Where are the women). In a discussion moderated by BBC Radio 3 Presenter Fiona Talkington, our guests talked about their own experiences in the music field and discussed how we can all play a part in making the change.
