Last month, the EBU switched to a new authentication method, Microsoft Entra, and decommissioned the former one (sso.ebu.ch).
What this means for most EBU Members ?
Employees of most EBU Members should now use a federated login to authenticate. This means your organization acts as the identity provider. You no longer need 2 separate accounts or 2 separate passwords.
Your work credentials give you access to EBU content.
What to do on the next screen ?
If you already have an EBU account, enter your professional email address and select Next. You will see the EBU logo change to your organization’s logo. Enter your usual work password and, if prompted, accept the sharing of information with the EBU.
What if we are using shared mailboxes ?
The new authentication mechanism does not work with shared mailboxes. If you usually access EBU websites using a shared account, you must create a new individual user account. Scroll down to view the instructions.
If federated login does not work ?
For some EBU Members, as well as the general public, federated login will not work. Login remains possible with your existing account. 3 different cases may occur:
Case 1: If your email address is linked to a Microsoft account, you will be redirected to https://login.live.com. Log in using your usual Microsoft credentials.
Case 2: If your email address is linked to a Google account, you will be redirected to https://accounts.google.com. Log in using your usual Google credentials.
Case 3: If your email address is not linked to either service, you will receive a temporary password by email each time you log in.
What to do if none of the above seems to work ?
Please read the instructions below carefully, as the choice you make during your first login cannot be changed later.
To create a new account, select No account? Create one.
You will have 3 options:
Microsoft: Recommended for users working for EBU Member organizations.
Google: Create an account using your existing Google account.
Other valid email address: A temporary password will be sent to your inbox each time you log in.
If you still cannot log in after following these instructions, contact [email protected].
Public Service Media Review
Helping EBU Members to analysis how far they comply with their public service remits
The concept
The PSM review provides EBU Members with a customized analysis of whether they are achieving their missions in terms of ‘Empowering Society’, a declaration of the six core values that distinguish PSM from other media organizations.
The benefits for Members are:
Professional assessment of their current situation with suggestions for improvement and further developments based on the experience of other PSM organizations
Critical self-assessment
Highlighting strategic political and societal value
On request, customized expertise (training, human resources, legal, governance)
After the review and on request a follow-up support from EBU Academy
Conducting the review
Participation in the peer-to-peer review is voluntary and available to any Member of the EBU. It is structured in two complementary parts:
1. Self-assessment report
The self-assessment report sets out the framework and reveals the management’s own perception of the media organization.
2. On-site review
The on-site review allows peers to observe the internal dynamics within the organization, the corporate culture and realities at grass roots (including best practices), delving deeper than the answers to the self-assessment questionnaire.
Leading in Times of Disruption - Qualities of the Future PSM Leader
28 October 2024
In this session, Dr. Markus Alsleben, a keynote and TEDx speaker, explored the core aspects of leadership and the essential qualities of future leaders.
Dr. Alsleben shared his expertise on how strong leadership inspires and empowers teams, particularly in times of disruption. The session expanded into the importance of adaptability, resilience and a growth mindset as critical traits for navigating today’s rapidly changing world.
This session also marked the launch of our Future Leaders Programme, designed to prepare tomorrow’s leaders with the skills and insights needed to navigate an evolving landscape. For more information about our programme, visit our website.

The following report assesses the management practices of Český rozhlas (Czech Radio, CR for short), the Czech public service radio broadcaster, and the quality of the content it provides, according to the public service values defined by the EBU in 2012 in Strasbourg. This report is based on the self-assessment performed by CR, in conjunction with the on-site review carried out in Prague by an international peer group on 18-20 September 2018.
The objectives of this report are to:
Provide CR with a statement on its current situation, highlighting best practices, as well as suggested areas for improvement.
Provide CR with recommendations and suggestions to help the media organisation adapt to the challenges it faces, and shape its strategy for the 2019-2022 period.
Provide other media organisations with ideas to improve their internal processes, develop best practices, and challenge their own understanding of public service values.
This report reflects the peer group’s observations, opinions, and suggestions as to their analysis of CR’s self-assessment and their on-site review. It starts with general comments. This is followed by an overview of CR’s performance, benchmarked against the six public service values (universality, independence, excellence, diversity, accountability and innovation). Finally, it highlights a set of best practices (actions, ideas, activities and programmes) which is meant to serve as a model for other EBU Members.
