General Assembly

The General Assembly is the supreme governing body of the EBU and possesses all powers necessary for accomplishing the Union’s objectives including the definition of the organization’s strategy and approval of its finances.

The Assembly meets twice a year: the summer session is open for all Members and Associates and is hosted by a Member organization; the December session is limited to Members and is held in Geneva.

Join us for our 92nd General Assembly, where we'll delve into the pressing issues shaping our industry, including the transformative role of AI, the evolving television landscape, and the significant impact of current geopolitical developments on public broadcasters. As ever, this is a unique opportunity to strengthen collaboration and share insights on navigating the challenges and opportunities ahead.

In addition to the special session topics, the Assembly will also be tasked as usual with several statutory matters including the election of the EBU President and EBU Vice-President for the next two-year mandate (from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2026).

This year's edition of the Summer General Assembly will take place in Limassol, Cyprus, hosted by CyBC.

TRAVEL AND GROUND TRANSPORTATION

Limassol's closest international airport is Larnaca, situated an hour's drive from the venue. Paphos International Airport also has limited seasonal routes from mainland Europe and the UK.

Both airports have poor public transportation links to Limassol, so we recommend arranging taxis and other forms of private transportation. We are working with a business travel agency to be able to offer reliable taxi transfers to and from the airports to all delegates, at pre-negotiated rates.
