Let’s talk podcasting at the EBU Podcast Forum 2025 on 17 and 18 September at MediaCity UK in Salford, Manchester, at the kind invitation of BBC Sounds. This event presents a fantastic opportunity to exchange ideas on audio formats and delve into various aspects of podcasting and public service media.

At the EBU Podcast Forum, senior podcast professionals and producers will come together to discuss strategies for successful podcasting, production techniques, and innovative formats. Participants will have the chance to share insights on topics such as audio content benchmarking, KPIs for commissioning, efficient internal production workflows, team collaboration, and the creation of new formats. The agenda will include knowledge-sharing along with format presentations, and there will be plenty of space for open discussions on topics suggested by participants.

This event is open to EBU Members only. It will be of interest to podcast producers, content creators, programme directors, heads of digital, heads of programming, heads of podcast teams, and others involved in public service broadcasting, podcast production, strategy development, or on-demand content.

Podcast Forum 2024

The EBU Podcast Forum 2024 will take place on 29 and 30 August in Berlin, Germany, at the kind invitation of rbb. The event is a golden opportunity to exchange audio formats and take a deep dive into all things related to podcasts and public service media.

The EBU Podcast Forum brings together senior podcast professionals and producers to discuss all topics related to building a successful podcast strategy, podcast production and formats. It’s also an opportunity to share knowledge and expertise in areas such as benchmarking for audio content, KPIs for commissioning, efficient internal production workflows and cross-team cooperation, and the development of new formats. The agenda combines knowledge sharing with format presentations, and this year we are also introducing open space for conversations on topics proposed by participants.

This year’s agenda has been created to match the requirements of podcast professional themselves. Rather than focusing on individual pitches, it features a series of paired podcasts that take contrasting approaches to a given topic or challenge. The podcasts will be presented by their producers and then we’ll open the floor to interactive discussions around the decisions taken. Sessions include coverage of the climate crisis, building engaged communities around podcasts, first-person narratives on difficult subjects, mental health awareness, and podcasts for children. We’ll also have a special focus on one podcast that has found surprising success with a fiction-based format. There will be space for interaction, group discussions and talking about any topics related to the work of PSM podcast professionals.

This event is open to EBU Members only. It will be of interest to podcast producers, content creators, programme directors, heads of digital, heads of programming, heads of podcast teams, etc. Anyone working for a public service broadcaster, producing podcast formats, developing podcast strategies, or working with on-demand content and platforms is welcome to join.

This year the Podcast Forum will align with the ARD festival 'House of Podcast' celebrating the 20th anniversary of podcasting. On this occasion, various podcast shows that will take place during the festival will be open to public. The ticket sales are available now. It is worth being quick, the first shows are already sold out.
